TIPS • Water amount depends mainly on the moisture level of sands. • Bricks for laying should be saturated with water before use to prevent water retraction from cement slurry. • After the brick laying work time interval should be allowed before plastering, to avoid cracking due to wall settling. • Brick wall surface cleaning and application of plenty amount of water on the surfaces are recommended prior to plastering. This is to prevent cracks due to dewatering of water from cement slurry by the bricks. This practices help reducing the cracking problem caused by work process. • Avoid vibration on the surface while and after plastering. The vibration may cause future cracking. • After plastering the wall surface should be cured to obtain hard and crackless cement wall.
